Jos: Everybody Was Confused; Why People Are Dead Much,People Were Thinking That It’s NDLEA — Akintola
Fear and confusion have taken over Angwan Rukuba in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State after a sudden and violent attack left several people dead and others injured.
Residents are still struggling to understand how an ordinary evening turned into a scene of chaos, panic, and bloodshed that many say they will never forget. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.
In a heartbreaking account shared on Channels Television, a resident identified as Sunday Akintola described how the attack happened so fast that people barely had time to react. He said the community, known for its daily business activities and relative calm, was caught completely off guard when gunshots suddenly filled the air.
Akintola explained that what made the situation worse was the confusion in those early moments. Many residents, he said, initially thought the gunfire was linked to a routine NDLEA operation in the area, a situation people were already familiar with due to past drug-related raids. That misunderstanding caused some people to move closer instead of running away, unknowingly putting themselves in danger.
According to him, before anyone could fully understand what was happening, shootings had already spread across different parts of the community. People who were trying to help the injured were also reportedly caught in the crossfire, worsening the number of casualties.
He described the scene as overwhelming, with residents running in different directions, screaming, and trying to rescue loved ones while avoiding gunfire. The sudden nature of the attack, he said, left everyone confused and helpless.
The incident has since left families mourning and the entire community in fear, as questions continue to rise over who carried out the attack and why such violence was unleashed on innocent residents.
Authorities are expected to investigate the situation, while residents continue to call for stronger security presence in Jos North and surrounding communities.
