Jos: Those Taken To The Hospital Were Almost 20, This Morning, We Have Confirmed 11 Dead – Resident

Tension is still very high in Anguwan Rukuba area of Jos North Local Government Area in Plateau State after a brutal and shocking attack left at least 11 people confirmed dead, with many others injured and rushed to hospital.

Residents say the incident has thrown the entire community into deep fear and confusion as they try to understand who carried out the deadly assault. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.

The disturbing account was shared by youth leader Corona Samson in an interview with TVC News, where he described how armed men reportedly stormed the area dressed in military-style uniforms and opened fire on residents. According to him, what started as a normal day quickly turned into chaos, forcing families to run for safety.

Samson explained that the attackers moved through the neighbourhood firing gunshots randomly and also using machetes on residents who could not escape. He said the sudden nature of the attack left people helpless, with many unable to save their loved ones as violence spread across different parts of the area.

According to him, community volunteers later gathered about 14 bodies from the scene, while nearly 20 injured victims were taken to various hospitals for urgent treatment. By the following morning, authorities had reportedly confirmed 11 deaths, though residents fear the number could still rise as more information comes in.

He further stated that the attackers appeared to be wearing army uniforms and were also seen carrying ammunition, which added to the confusion during the incident. Some residents reportedly mistook the situation at first, not realizing the severity of what was unfolding.

The attack has left families devastated and the entire community in mourning, with many calling for urgent government intervention and stronger security presence in the area to prevent further violence.

As investigations continue, residents are demanding answers about the identity of the attackers and how such a deadly operation could be carried out in their community without early intervention.
