Umar Ardo, has made a bold and controversial claim declaring that Atiku Abubakar will win the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primaries no matter what.
Speaking during a TV programme, Ardo didn’t mince words. According to him, even if the primaries are conducted 100 times, Atiku would still emerge victorious every single time. He believes Atiku’s political strength, structure, and nationwide influence make him unbeatable within the party.
But the situation is far from simple.
Ardo explained that while some have suggested a “consensus candidate” to avoid internal clashes, that idea may not work. Why? Because big names like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi are also key players — and stepping down would require serious sacrifice.
Interestingly, Ardo hinted that Peter Obi might personally consider unity, but his strong and loyal supporters may never agree to it. On the other hand, he believes Atiku himself is not ready to step aside for anyone.
This creates a political deadlock — one that could only be settled through a full-blown primary election battle.
And if that happens? Ardo insists the outcome is already decided.
