BREAKING: “At Least We Were Safe!” — Saraki Sparks Fresh Fear as He Speaks on Rising Killings in Kwara

Fresh tension is building in Kwara State after former Senate President Bukola Saraki raised serious concerns about what he described as worsening insecurity in the state. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.

Speaking during a live interview on Channels Television, Saraki compared the current situation with the period when he was in power — and his words have left many Nigerians talking.

According to him, even people within the current political structure are quietly admitting that things are no longer the same. He revealed that some residents recently told him something troubling: back then, they may not have had everything, but they felt safe.

Now, that sense of safety, he suggested, is fading fast.

Saraki pointed to reports indicating that hundreds of people may have lost their lives in recent years, adding that Kwara — once seen as one of the most peaceful states — is now being mentioned in conversations around rising attacks and insecurity.

He stressed that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of any government, reminding viewers of his own time as governor and the relatively lower number of violent incidents recorded then.

His comments have since sparked debate across Nigeria, with many asking tough questions about leadership, accountability, and the true state of security not just in Kwara, but across the country.

Is the situation really getting worse, or is this politics at play?
