JUST IN: Bandits carry out house-to-house attack, loot valuables worth millions in Katsina community
Residents of Jeri community in Kusada Local Government Area of Katsina State are now counting heavy losses after suspected bandits reportedly invaded the area in a brutal house-to-house attack that lasted for nearly two hours. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch What Happened.
According to a security update shared by analyst Bakatsine on X (formerly Twitter), the attackers moved freely through the community, breaking into homes and carting away valuables without any immediate resistance.
The raid, which has thrown the entire community into panic and fear, saw the criminals allegedly stealing mobile phones, cash, and cattle worth millions of naira from helpless residents.
Bakatsine explained that the attackers operated for almost two hours, going from house to house in what many residents are describing as one of the most terrifying incidents in recent times.
“Bandits carried out a house-to-house raid in Jeri community, Kusada LGA of Katsina State, operating for nearly two hours,” he wrote, adding that phones, cash, and livestock were all taken during the operation.
Interestingly, despite the scale and duration of the attack, no deaths or kidnappings were reported. However, residents say the psychological impact of the invasion has left the community deeply shaken.
The incident has now sparked fresh concerns over the security situation in Katsina State, especially as it comes shortly after reports of a peace agreement with armed groups in nearby Kankia Local Government Area.
Critics are already questioning the effectiveness of such peace deals, with some security observers warning that repeated attacks like this could undermine public trust in ongoing reconciliation efforts.
For now, residents of Jeri community are left to rebuild and recover from the losses, while calling on authorities to strengthen security presence and prevent further attacks.
