A disturbing confession from a kidnapping suspect, Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch What Happened.
Odidika Okwuegbulem, has sparked outrage and renewed concern over rising insecurity in Imo State after he allegedly revealed details of a failed assassination deal during an interview on Channels Television.
Okwuegbulem narrated how he was allegedly approached for a contract killing involving a man identified as Ikem, describing how the financial negotiations unfolded in a chilling manner that has since shocked many viewers.
According to his account, the arrangement started with a demand of N10 million before both parties later shifted figures during the alleged negotiation process.
In his words during the interview, he said: “I wanted to use money to pursue him. I told him N10million. He said if I don’t want to work, I should leave it. I asked him how much will he pay, he said N1.5million. I told him that he should come later. Later in the day, he brought N500,000 three times.”
His statement suggests that after initial disagreement over payment, the alleged deal moved into a series of partial payments, raising further questions about the extent of planning and coordination behind the incident.
The confession has triggered serious concern among security watchers, who say it highlights the growing trend of contract killings and violent crime in parts of the country where disputes are increasingly being settled through hired criminals rather than legal means.
Experts also warn that such cases reflect deeper societal problems, including unemployment, weak justice enforcement, and the expansion of underground criminal networks that operate with alarming boldness.
As investigations continue, the case has added to ongoing discussions about the urgent need for stronger policing and intelligence gathering to curb violent crime in Imo State and beyond.
