“‘He Has What Northerners Love… But Something Is MISSING!’ — NANS President Drops Bombshell on Peter Obi’s Chances”

A fresh political debate is heating up across Nigeria after a strong and unexpected statement about Peter Obi’s popularity in the North surfaced online.

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Atiku Isah, has openly revealed that while Peter Obi has qualities that northerners deeply admire, there is still one major thing holding him back from massive support in the region.

This revelation is already stirring reactions among political watchers, especially as conversations around the next elections quietly begin to take shape.

Speaking in a video shared on Symfoni, Isah explained that Peter Obi’s simple lifestyle is one of his strongest advantages, especially in northern Nigeria where modesty and humility are highly respected.

According to him, Obi’s frugality is something that naturally connects with many northern voters, making him relatable and admirable in their eyes.

However, he quickly pointed out that this alone is not enough.

“There’s something missing in Peter Obi,” Isah said. “If he realizes that, he can get up to 40% of Northern votes without even choosing a northern vice president.”

That statement alone has sparked serious conversation.

So what exactly is missing?

Isah explained that the real issue is not Obi’s character, but his connection with the grassroots. According to him, many ordinary northerners still do not truly know Peter Obi or feel his presence on the ground.

He stressed that in the North, people value familiarity and strong local connections, not just reputation from afar.

“He has not been able to identify the right people and for the ordinary northerners to know who he is,” Isah added.

This insight has raised a critical question—can popularity on paper translate into real votes without deep grassroots engagement?

As political activities slowly begin to build momentum, many believe this could be a major factor that shapes future election outcomes.

What do you think about this?

Do you agree that Peter Obi is missing something important in the North?
