18 Years Ago, Vincent Ogbulafor Had Prophesied That PDP Would Be In Power For Next 60 Years — Chude
A fresh political debate has erupted in Nigeria after public affairs analyst Achike Chude revisited a long-standing political prediction about the future of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.
He recalled a controversial statement made years ago by the late PDP chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor, who once suggested that the party could remain in power for up to 60 years a dream that now appears far from reality.
Speaking during an interview on Arise News, Chude painted a stark picture of Nigeria’s opposition politics, saying the PDP is currently “gasping for breath” amid ongoing internal struggles.
He contrasted the situation with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that despite its own internal disagreements, the party has strong structures that help it manage crises and maintain control.
According to him, the APC has what he described as a “clearinghouse” leadership style that prevents disputes from escalating into full-blown breakdowns.
However, he said the PDP is experiencing something far more serious — a deep leadership and ownership crisis that continues to weaken its political influence nationwide.
His comments have sparked renewed debate about the future of opposition politics in Nigeria, with many questioning whether the PDP can rebuild itself ahead of future elections.
As political tensions continue to rise, one question remains: Is the PDP truly struggling beyond repair, or is a comeback still possible?
