DSS Picks Up El-Rufai After Court Grants Bail; Family Kicks
The family of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai has protested after DSS officials allegedly took him into custody following court proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
According to Vanguard, El-Rufai’s wife, Hasiat, accused security agencies of intimidation and violating court directives that reportedly ordered he remain in ICPC custody. She also claimed he has been denied consistent access to personal doctors despite court approval.
His son, Bello El-Rufai, described the bail conditions as politically motivated, while supporters condemned the repeated transfers between DSS and ICPC custody. Security sources later said he was eventually returned to ICPC custody after legal consultations.
