A fresh outcry has erupted in Nigeria as a retired police officer, Munnir Lawal Zaria, raised alarm over what he described as a painful and unfair pension system affecting former officers.

Speaking during an interview, Zaria did not hide his frustration. He claimed that while retired police officers struggle to survive, some workers inside the pension system go home with as much as ₦2.5 million every month.

He said the situation is so bad that anyone who visits the system will be left in tears.

Something serious is unfolding here and many people are already reacting fast
What you are about to discover is raising serious questions across Nigeria

Zaria, who represents retirees under the Nigeria Police Force pension scheme, accused powerful individuals of blocking reforms for their own benefit.

According to him, the resistance is not about policy but about protecting personal gains.

He also questioned why officials in agencies like the National Pension Commission earn far more than the officers who risk their lives daily.

For him, the imbalance is dangerous.

He warned that neglecting the welfare of police officers could have serious consequences for national security.

His message is clear.

If nothing changes, the system may continue to fail those who once protected the country.
