‘We Located The Terrorists But Were Told NOT TO ACT’ — Soldier’s Shocking Confession Sparks Outrage, El-Buba Raises Alarm

Fresh controversy has erupted in Nigeria after a disturbing claim surfaced from a senior religious leader, Isa El-Buba, who says a Nigerian soldier allegedly revealed something deeply troubling about ongoing security operations.

The cleric made the revelation during an interview on Sahara TV, where he spoke about what he described as repeated failures and interference in the fight against terrorism.

According to him, a military officer confessed that troops sometimes locate terrorist positions but are ordered not to take action, even when they are fully prepared to engage.

In his words, El-Buba said he asked the soldier directly why they were not confronting terrorists despite knowing their location. The response he claims to have received was shocking: “We have not been given the command.”

This statement has now triggered serious public concern across Nigeria, especially as insecurity continues to affect several regions.

El-Buba further described a recent incident where a community reportedly received military protection after warning of an approaching attack. However, he alleged that the same soldiers were withdrawn within 24 hours, leaving residents exposed before terrorists struck again.

The comments have raised difficult questions about command structure, decision-making, and accountability within the security system.

Many Nigerians online are now demanding clarity from authorities, asking who exactly gives such orders and why troops would be prevented from acting when lives are at risk.

The situation has added more tension to ongoing national debates about insecurity and military response effectiveness.

For viewers who want to watch the full discussion, the video clip is available at the referenced interview (minute 6:54 to 7:05). Youtube

What do you think about this?

Should authorities respond publicly to these allegations, or is there more going on behind the scenes?
