“You Can’t Rent Kano Crowd!” – Obi–Kwankwaso Alliance Ignites 2027 Political Firestorm

Nigeria’s political space is heating up fast as fresh talks of an alliance between Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso continue to shake the foundation of the 2027 elections. What started as quiet speculation is now turning into a loud national conversation that could reshape the entire opposition strategy.

Supporters are already calling it a “game-changing move,” while critics—especially from the All Progressives Congress—are raising doubts and questioning the growing momentum behind the partnership.

Reacting to the growing buzz, Yunusa Tanko, a key voice in the Obidient Movement, dismissed claims that recent political crowds linked to Obi were staged or “rented.” According to him, the massive turnout seen during Obi’s visit to Kano was real, organic, and a clear sign that Nigerians are ready for a new political direction.

He made it clear that many of those who showed up were actually loyal supporters of Kwankwaso’s Kwankwasiyya movement, not just Obi’s base. This, he explained, proves that the alliance is already gaining strong grassroots backing across different political camps.

Tanko also described the idea of “renting” such a crowd in Kano as unrealistic, insisting that political loyalty in the region cannot be bought so easily.

As 2027 draws closer, this possible Obi–Kwankwaso alliance is becoming one of the most talked-about developments in Nigeria, with many wondering if it could truly challenge the ruling power.

What do you think about this alliance? Can Obi and Kwankwaso really unite Nigerians and win, or is this just political hype?
