“Those Leaders In ADC… Actually Formed APC” — Seriake Dickson Drops Bombshell on Nigeria’s Opposition Politics, Questions ADC Direction

Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has stirred fresh political debate in Nigeria after making a strong claim about the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying many of its key figures were once the original architects of the All Progressives Congress (APC). His comment has now raised serious questions about what the ADC truly stands for in Nigeria’s growing political space.

Speaking during an interview on AIT’s Focus Nigeria, Dickson said the ADC appears more like a gathering of political heavyweights rather than a party built on clear ideology or direction. His words have triggered reactions from political observers and supporters across Nigeria.

He argued that many of the leaders now in the ADC were deeply involved in the formation of the APC, suggesting that their movement may be driven more by frustration than by a solid political vision. According to him, this raises doubts about whether the party can truly present a fresh alternative to Nigerians.

Dickson also stressed that political strength is not just about big names or popular figures, but about strong ideas, clear policies, and commitment to national development. Without these, he warned, any political platform may struggle to gain real public trust.

He further questioned whether the ADC can build a strong identity when its leadership still reflects the same political class that has shaped previous ruling structures in the country. In his view, this could make it difficult for the party to stand out in future elections.

As political realignments continue across Nigeria, many are now watching closely to see whether the ADC will redefine itself or remain another platform of familiar faces in new clothing.

What do you think about this political revelation? Do you agree with Dickson or not? Drop your opinion in the comment section and share this with others who follow Nigerian politics.
