A wave of deep sorrow has hit County after the painful death of 14-year-old Mitchelle Candy Okoth, a young girl who battled Type 1 Diabetes from a very tender age. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.

Her tragic passing has left her family, school, and community in shock, as they struggle to come to terms with how quickly her condition worsened.

Candy, a student at Sibuoche Junior Secondary School, was first diagnosed with diabetes at just 9 years old after she slipped into a coma. From that moment, her life changed completely, and her family was forced to accept a long journey of hospital visits, medication, and emotional pain.

Her mother, Loice Adhiambo, revealed that it took them years to fully understand and accept the reality of her daughter’s condition.

According to the family, Candy’s condition suddenly worsened days before her death. She was rushed to hospital after her blood sugar levels spiked dangerously high, leading to complications known as Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA).

Despite being placed on oxygen and later moved to intensive care, her condition continued to deteriorate. Doctors reportedly struggled to stabilize her as her kidneys failed and emergency dialysis was not immediately available.

In her final moments, Candy showed brief signs of improvement and even sent emotional messages of gratitude and farewell to her parents through her sister.

Her mother also shared that Candy had once written letters to God, expressing her desire to live a normal life free from illness.

Sadly, despite all efforts, she passed away before she could be transferred for further emergency treatment. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch What Happened.

The grief has left a painful mark on the family, who remember her as a strong young girl who fought bravely until the very end. Her story has also raised urgent concerns about access to quality healthcare for children battling chronic illnesses in Kenya.

What do you think about this heartbreaking story? Could more have been done to save her?
