According to Roseanne, she was born in Kabati village in a relatively comfortable home and completed her secondary education in 2008. After moving to Nairobi, she got married and had her first child, but illness forced her back to her parents’ home for care. However, tensions reportedly began when she tried to return to her marriage, and her mother objected strongly.
Later, Roseanne moved in with her grandmother, where she was introduced to nightlife and dance performances. Her talent eventually caught the attention of Kikuyu musician Gachathi Wa Thuo, who offered her a role in his music band. This opened new doors for her, including meeting new people and having two more children.
Trouble started when a viral TikTok video of her dancing reached her parents, angering her mother. When she needed to travel for work, she left her children with her mother temporarily. But things quickly escalated when her mother reported her to the police, leading to her arrest upon return. Shockingly, she was charged with child neglect and sentenced to three years in prison, with her children also kept with her due to their ages.
The most painful twist, according to her account, was that her own mother testified against her in court, pushing for a harsh sentence. Roseanne said she initially felt deep anger and betrayal, but while in prison, she later found faith, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
