Sunday Omole has now shared a heart-stopping account of how one elderly woman narrowly escaped abduction amid the terror.
In an interview with News Central TV, Pastor Omole described how the bandits were moving their captives when the elderly woman admitted she could no longer see or move forward. The attackers initially tried to force her on, beating her with a stick used for herding cows.
“When she said she could not move, they now said, ‘Okay, go back,’” Omole recalled. The woman turned back and was able to return to safety, a rare moment of relief amid the terrifying ordeal.
The incident highlights not only the cruelty and unpredictability of these attacks but also the vulnerability of worshippers during routine church activities. It underscores the urgent need for stronger security measures in Kwara State and other rural communities facing similar threats.
