Last Time, I Begged You To Vote For Labour Party; People Will Say“ You Left Labour, I Didn’t Leave LP – Peter Obi
According To NewsVista Reporter, former presidential candidate Peter Obi has spoken openly about his political journey while campaigning for the African Democratic Congress candidate in the ongoing Abuja local council elections.
During an interview on Voice TV, Obi addressed claims that he abandoned the Labour Party after the 2023 presidential election. The related video report is available on NewsVista.
He reminded supporters of his past appeal. “I know the last time I begged you to vote for Labour, and I am sincerely grateful,” he said, appreciating the trust Nigerians placed in him.
Obi clarified that his exit from the Labour Party was not by choice. According to him, powerful forces made it impossible for him to remain. “People will say you left Labour. I didn’t leave Labour. Those in government don’t want me to be in any party. They don’t want me to be a candidate,” he stated.
According To NewsVista Reporter, his remarks suggest growing political pressure as opposition figures realign ahead of future elections, including 2027.
