According To NewsVista Reporter, the conviction at Snaresbrook Crown Court covers 21 charges, including rape, sexual assault, and offenses against children. Khan, 54, exploited his position at an East London mosque to manipulate seven victims, three of whom were teenagers, luring them to isolated locations where the crimes occurred.
Prosecutors revealed that between 2004 and 2015, Khan used claims of “black magic” and possession by a “Jinn” to intimidate victims and enforce silence. The abuse came to light in 2018 when his youngest victim reported the crimes to a teacher, prompting a police investigation that involved over 50 witnesses.
Detective Sergeant Sara Yems praised the bravery of the survivors, noting that the conviction may inspire others to come forward. Khan remains in custody and is scheduled for sentencing on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
