Russia Launches Massive Overnight Missile and Drone Attack on Ukraine’s Infrastructure
According to NewsVista Reporter, Russia carried out a massive overnight aerial assault on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure, firing 447 missiles and drones in one of the most intense attacks in recent months.
Ukraine’s air force said the strike began around 7 p.m. local time and targeted energy and infrastructure sites across multiple western regions, including Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, and Vinnytsia. These areas are key for Ukraine’s energy and logistics.
Despite Ukraine’s air defenses intercepting 406 of the incoming targets, officials confirmed that 34 missiles and drones still struck 19 locations, causing damage and prompting emergency responses to restore power and aid residents.
This attack follows a pattern of Russian strikes aiming to cripple Ukraine’s energy grid and morale, especially during harsh winter months. Ukraine relies heavily on advanced air defense systems, many supplied by Western allies, to fend off these relentless assaults.
No official Russian response has been given, and verifying details remains difficult amid ongoing conflict. The strike highlights the ongoing vulnerability of Ukraine’s infrastructure as the war continues with both sides wielding long-range attack capabilities.
