“PDP IN CRISIS: ‘MAKINDE FELL INTO WIKE’S TRAP’ — ANALYST REVEALS HOW INTERNAL POWER STRUGGLE IS TEARING PARTY APART AHEAD OF 2027”

Fresh political tension has rocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as analyst Liborous Oshoma weighs in on the deepening crisis between factions loyal to Nyesom Wike and those aligned with Governor Seyi Makinde.

His comments have stirred fresh debate over what is really fueling the ongoing instability within one of Nigeria’s major opposition parties. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.

Speaking in a video shared by TVC News, Oshoma explained that the crisis did not happen overnight. According to him, the situation escalated when disagreements over party control and presidential support created a strong divide within the PDP structure.

He alleged that former Minister Nyesom Wike’s influence within the party has been long-standing, rooted in years of political financing and strong loyalty networks that gave him significant leverage. This influence, he said, continues to shape internal decisions and alignments within the party.

Oshoma further argued that Governor Seyi Makinde’s camp contributed to the worsening crisis by refusing to conduct congresses in 11 states. According to him, this action created legal and structural complications that later affected the legitimacy of key party decisions, including the convention held in Ibadan where Umar Damagum emerged as chairman.

He also recalled that both Wike and Makinde were once part of the G5 political alliance, but internal mistrust and post-election disagreements eventually deepened divisions within the group.

The analyst’s remarks have sparked fresh debate among political observers, with many questioning whether reconciliation is still possible within the PDP as 2027 approaches.

What do you think about this political drama? Can the PDP survive its internal divisions?
