“TERRORISTS ARE NOT OUR SONS!” — ADC FIRES BACK AT CDS OVER SHOCKING STATEMENT, DEMANDS TOUGH ACTION AGAINST KILLERS

A fresh wave of political tension has hit Nigeria after the African Democratic Congress (ADC) strongly criticized the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, over his recent comment describing terrorists as “sons” of the nation.

The party says such language is dangerous, unacceptable, and sends the wrong message at a time when Nigerians are already living in fear of killings, kidnappings, and bandit attacks. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.

The ADC insists that criminals who destroy lives and communities should never be given soft identity labels. According to the party, calling terrorists “sons of Nigeria” weakens national security efforts and makes it look like the government is trying to humanize people who are actively causing pain across the country.

In a strong reaction shared on X, the party emphasized that terrorists and bandits should be treated strictly as enemies of the state. The ADC Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the party’s future plan is to introduce a stronger counter-terrorism system that will not tolerate excuses or soft handling of violent criminals.

He explained that their strategy would focus on local intelligence gathering, state-level prevention, national coordination, and regional cooperation with neighboring countries to fight insecurity from all sides.

The party maintained that Nigeria must draw a clear line between innocent citizens and those who take up arms against the nation, stressing that protecting lives must always come first.

The statement ended with a strong message: terrorists should never be seen as family, but as enemies who must be confronted decisively.

What do you think about this heated debate? Is the language used by leaders helping or weakening the fight against insecurity?
