“Wike Is Not in APC Records” — Dogara Speaks on Membership Controversy and Party Convention
Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has stated that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,
Nyesom Wike, is not listed as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) based on available party records. Alot of people won’t agree with this, Watch Video Now.
Speaking during an interview on ARISE News, Dogara said he has not seen any evidence that Wike formally obtained or submitted a membership form to the party.
He emphasized that according to APC’s official registration system, membership is only recognized when individuals are properly documented in the party database.
Dogara’s remarks come amid ongoing political debate over internal alignments and alleged cross-party influence ahead of the 2027 elections.
He also used the opportunity to highlight that the party’s upcoming national convention is expected to showcase reforms under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and provide a platform for reviewing the APC’s progress.
According to him, the convention will also strengthen internal structures and help streamline decision-making processes within the party.
On broader party affairs, Dogara explained that consensus-based approaches for selecting candidates are consistent with legal provisions and are aimed at reducing internal conflict while maintaining order.
His comments add another layer to the growing political discussion around party loyalty, influence, and alignment as Nigeria moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
